We are pleased to announce that "Kaorukaze Kabuki Special Performance" will be held at the Osaka Shochikuza Theater from May 11 (Sun.) to 25 (Sun.) to commemorate the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
Prior to the event, tickets will go on sale on Monday, March 5.
This special performance will be held during the period of Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai.
Kataoka Ainosuke, who is the ambassador for the "Come to Osaka! Campaign," Kabuki actors representing the Kamigata region, including Kataoka Ainosuke, Nakamura Ganjiro, Nakamura Senjaku, and Ichikawa Chuguruma, as well as young kabuki actors of the Hanagata generation, will perform to convey the appeal of kabuki from Osaka to the world.
This time, a three-part system was introduced. The three-part system is shorter than the usual two-part day-night system, making it easier to see. The program includes a new Kabuki play based on "Saiyuki" and "One Thousand and One Nights," as well as "Koi-no-Tsukimari" (Carp Catcher), which features a somersaulting and a standing water turn.
