On Saturday, October 25, 2025, a Guinness World Record attempt event was held to commemorate the appointment of Yutaka Yokoyama (SUPER EIGHT), singer and actor, as "Osaka Konohana Tourism Ambassador" and to unveil his new role.
This event challenged the "largest number of people cooking teppan-yaki at the same time" and set a Guinness World Record. Participants gathered one after another at the Maishima Barbecue Park, the venue of the event, and the early morning was filled with the enthusiasm of approximately 1,000 people.
By the time the event began, the rain that had occasionally been a bit drizzly had completely lifted, and the event got underway in an atmosphere of anticipation.

When the event started, Yutaka Yokoyama appeared on stage first, to loud cheers and applause from the audience.
Mayor Yokoyama of Osaka City and Mayor Nakajima of Konohana Ward also took the stage to address the audience.

Mayor Yokoyama talked about how Yutaka Yokoyama's comments on one of his TV programs led to his request to become an ambassador.
Mayor Nakajima also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Yutaka Yokoyama and enthusiastically introduced Konohana Ward, which he himself has a strong emotional attachment to.
Let's make Osaka and Konohana-ku a better place! The audience was further enlivened by the powerful message, "Let's make Osaka and Konohana-ku a lively place!
Finally, Yutaka Yokoyama took the microphone and spoke passionately about the charms and memories of his hometown, Konohana-ku, and his enthusiasm as an ambassador.
Occasionally he spoke to the audience with humor, and each time he did so, the audience laughed and cheered.
Finally, the challenge for the Guinness World Record began!
The participants were all fired up when the official Guinness World Records certifier, Ms. Travally Aini, explained the detailed rules.
Yutaka Yokoyama called out emphatically, "If we're going to do this, let's win the Guinness World Records! The venue was filled with excitement and preparations were in full swing.
After that, each person returned to his or her seat and the teppanyaki cooking finally began.
Cooking began simultaneously at the signal of Mr. Travally, and the entire venue was filled with enthusiasm concentrating on the teppanyaki cooking.
Although Mr. Yutaka Yokoyama and Mayor Yokoyama occasionally called out to the participants, they all faced the teppanyaki in front of them with serious expressions on their faces, all trying their best to achieve the record.

As soon as the tense 10 minutes are over, the rigorous judging by the official Guinness certifiers will begin.
During the judging, everyone was anxiously awaiting the announcement of the results as they savored the freshly prepared teppanyaki.

And finally, when it came time to make a decision--
The number of participants was announced as "998", far exceeding the previous record of 798! This is far more than the previous record of 798 people, and has been certified as a Guinness World Record!
The venue was filled with applause and cheers, and the moment was filled with joy and a sense of accomplishment.
Afterwards, Mr. Travally handed the official Guinness certificate to Yutaka Yokoyama, who took a commemorative photo with the participants with a big smile on his face.
Mr. Yokoyama concluded,
I would be very grateful if you could continue to work with us to make Konohana Ward more vibrant."
I'm a Guinness holder, I got it!"
He concluded the event by saying with joy, "I'm very happy to be here.

This Guinness World Record attempt event was a great success thanks to the cooperation and enthusiasm of many people.
The venue was filled with smiles and cheers from start to finish, and the day was a great opportunity for participants to deepen their relationships with each other and with the local community.
Congratulations to all who participated.
And thank you for coming.
